Prepositions – IN ON AT

In – use:

  • Not a specific time: I was born in 1985.
  • To indicate a location: I live in California.
  • To indicate a shape: We are lost, you are driving in a circle.
  • To show a belief, opinion: I believe in you.

On – use:

  • To express a surface: The file is on the table.
  • To talk about dates (we have the noun day): See you on Monday/Christmas day.
  • To indicate a device: I am watching a movie on TV.
  • To indicate body parts: He always pats me on the back. But It’s all in your head.
  • To indicate a state: The product is on sale.
  • At – use:
    • To indicate an hour: We meet at 3 o’clock.
      To indicate a place: I work at the bank.
      For email address: Send the document at englishour@gmail.com (@- at)
      To indicate an activity: You are good at English.

    ⁉️We play football at the weekend(British)

    We play football on the weekend (American)

    ‼️‼️ always- We play football on the weekends.
